Carla Maria Monti

Carla Maria Monti is professor of Medieval and Humanistic Philology at the Università Cattolica in Milan, and the general editor of Italia Medioevale e Umanistica. She has devoted particular attention to the Latin works of Petrarca and his relationship with the classics, as well as his circle of friends, with a focus on Boccaccio, including his writings in Latin. Furthermore, she has examined the legacy of the Fathers and the Classics, investigating the reception of Cyprian and especially Seneca, as well the history of humanism in Brescia and during the age of the Visconti family.
