Fabio Della Schiava (PhD University of Florence) studied Medieval and Humanistic Philology in Milan and Library Studies at the Vatican Library. His primary research interests concern early modern antiquarianism and historiography, with a focus on Rome and papal ideology, the classical and medieval tradition in the Italian Renaissance and the afterlife of Italian humanism north of the Alps. He published widely on Italian humanism, among which the critical editions of Biondo Flavio’s Roma instaurata (Rome 2021) and of Maffeo Vegio's De rebus antiquis memorabilibus basilicae S. Petri Romae (Vatican City 2023).
