Paolo Varalda is Associate Professor of Greek Hagiography, History and Byzantine Civilization at the University of Turin. He has published several books and papers on collections of late antique miracles (The Miracles of St. Mena), on Byzantine hagiographic texts (The life of St. Auxentius by Michael Psellus) and on humanistic translations of Greek religious works (The Homilies on the Statues by John Chrysostom and The Ladder of Divine Ascent by John Climacus).
